The main referee for the Vietnam-Cambodia match is Elite Tam Ping Wun and two fellow countrymen as assistants. Meanwhile, the presence of Mr. Vu Linh as the fourth referee is surprising, because he is currently suspended from V.League duty by the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
VFF did not disclose the extent, form and time of discipline for referee Linh. He made serious mistakes in the match between Ho Chi Minh City and Thanh Hoa in round 13 of V.League 2023/24. In previous seasons, referee Linh also left a bad impression on his expertise.
VFF also affirmed that it always focuses on refereeing and hopes to receive cooperation from clubs in developing professional football in Vietnam. However, the fact that Mr. Linh is officiating at a national team match still surprised many people.
