According to RMC Sport, Greenwood is a player with great potential but if he fails to meet the expectations of the coach and Marseille board, the possibility of him leaving this summer is very high.
"Marseille took a big risk by signing Greenwood and if the player does not improve his attitude and performances, that is the price the club will have to pay," the French newspaper said.
RMC Sport also reported that coach Roberto De Zerbi and the Marseille board are increasingly tired of Greenwood's lack of effort. Although the 2003-born player possesses great potential, his inconsistent performances have left the Velodrome team far behind PSG in the title race. After a period of being a starter, Greenwood was benched in two important matches against Lens and Paris Saint-Germain.
Mason Greenwood has scored 15 goals in 28 games for the French side, but recent criticism from manager Roberto De Zerbi has raised concerns over the young England star's future.
In a recent press conference, De Zerbi said: "No one believes in Greenwood more than me but he has to work harder, perform better. If he wants to become a champion, Greenwood has to be more consistent, sacrifice more and be more determined."
If Marseille sell Greenwood this summer, MU will receive a percentage of the transfer fee. Currently, the 22-year-old player is valued at 35 million euros by statistics site Transfermarkt .
