Sportbible reports that Newcastle are willing to pay Isak more than £200,000 a week in a new contract to keep him in England for the long term. Currently, the Swedish international only earns £120,000 a week. According to Spotrac , only captain Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon earn more than Isak.
Newcastle's main target remains Champions League football next season. This result will determine whether Isak stays or opts for a bigger club next summer. The Swedish star has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona.
Newcastle are hoping to recoup at least £150m if they sell Isak. The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle owner Yasir Al-Rumayyan has told the board to reject any offers for Isak after learning that Barcelona scouts were watching the striker during the win over West Ham on 11 March.
Isak has maintained his impressive form, continuing to establish himself as one of Europe's most exciting strikers. The Swede has scored 23 goals and provided five assists in 33 games this season.
Manager Eddie Howe has praised Isak, saying: "I've enjoyed working with Isak and I wouldn't swap him for anyone else. We've tried to adapt our style of play to suit Isak's style of play. He's very different to any striker I've seen or worked with."
Isak was signed by Newcastle for a club record fee of £63m in 2022.
