It is not an exaggeration to say that the Born Pink concert in Hanoi is considered the most spectacular performance of a Kpop idol in Vietnam ever.

At the end of the event, InsiderVina published an article titled: “The world tour in Hanoi of Korean girl group BlackPink ended successfully.”

In the article, InsiderVina was surprised by the enthusiasm of Vietnamese fans. The newspaper said that on July 29, despite heavy rain, 30,000 fans along with 4 YG girls burned My Dinh Stadium with "passionate fire".

What do you think after two BlackPink shows?

Nikkie Asia newspaper affirmed that BlackPink is really creating a storm in Vietnam. The success of BlackPink's Born Pink concert not only excited fans, but also the future of the country's economy and the cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in the fields of culture and art.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's state visit to Vietnam in mid-June speaks to the close cooperation.

According to data compiled by the Korea Foundation (KF) in collaboration with 149 Korean diplomatic missions in 118 countries and territories, Vietnam is the country with the largest increase in Hallyu fans.

By the end of 2022, Vietnamese audiences had about 1.330 million people out of a total of 178.83 million, an increase of 223% compared to the first survey in 2012. Vietnam ranked third in the world in terms of the number of Hallyu wave fans.

The newspaper also said that the Korean cultural wave (Hallyu), which has long been a bridge between the two sides, could now continue to open up many economic opportunities.

Especially when Korea has been one of the major investors in Vietnam over the past 20 years.

“BlackPink's explosive popularity in Vietnam shows how strongly Hallyu's influence is expanding in the fields of culture, sports, business and entertainment.

BlackPink's successful performance also shows that Hanoi and the Vietnamese government have an open view towards tourism and the cultural industry," Nikkei Asia commented.

Choi Bundo, chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the southern and central regions of Vietnam, told Nikkei Asia that tax and trade agreements have helped nurture economic ties between the two sides.

Korean enterprises are highly satisfied with the quality of the workforce in Vietnam and expect that Vietnam can contribute to diversifying their supply chains.

Cultural similarities also help foster this relationship. According to Mr. Choi, “Vietnamese people like Korean culture such as K-pop and Korean dramas.”
