In a recent article, IndoSport newspaper said that player Evan Dimas is considering retiring at the age of 28.
Dimas in a dispute with Van Hau at the 2019 SEA Games final.
This information comes from the country's famous commentator, Labieb Sadat.
Commentator Sadat said: “A player from Surabaya (who is not currently playing for Persebaya) will decide to retire at the end of this season. This is a player with a very big name.”
Evan Dimas is currently playing for Arema Club in the Indonesian National Championship but is mainly a substitute.
Even this season, he is often not included in the competition list.
Doctors revealed that Dimas is currently sick and will return soon, but some other sources said that he suffered a serious injury.
In the past, Dimas was considered a bright talent with the most potential for development in Indonesian football.
But since the time he was injured after a collision with Doan Van Hau in the 2019 SEA Games final, his career has plummeted.
The Indonesian star gradually lost himself and could not regain his form.
Indonesian media and fans also unanimously affirmed that Van Hau's tackle was one of the reasons why Dimas had to end his career early.
Currently, the player born in 1995 has not yet responded to the news that he will hang up his boots at the end of this season.
As for Van Hau, he is currently suffering from an Achilles injury and is expected to return in early November.
However, the star from Thai Binh revealed that he will likely have to sit out longer than expected because the recovery process is not going as expected.
