Secondary school with competition ratio of 1/30, directly admits 6th grade student who won Gold Medal in chess

Next school year, the school will enroll 150 students. Parents can apply online starting May 20.

According to Foreign Language Secondary School, the school will implement the selection method to enroll 6th grade students for the next school year.

In particular, Vietnamese students with educational results of primary school years at the level of "Good completion" will be directly admitted.

The primary school student assessment test will be organized on computers by Foreign Language Secondary School.

In addition, students must meet one of the following conditions: Winning a Gold Medal in the IMSO Mathematics and Science Competition in the 2023-2024 or 2024-2025 school year; students winning First Prize or ranking First in the primary school category in the UPU International Letter Writing Competition in 2024, 2025; students winning a Gold Medal in the National Primary School Chess Competition or a Gold Medal in the International Chess Competition in the 2024-2025 school year; students winning First Prize or a Gold Medal in the individual competition in national and international art and sports competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or reputable foreign organizations in this school year. This school reserves 8 admission quotas for award-winning students for direct admission (equivalent to 12 students).

The school will directly admit foreign students who wish to study in grade 6 with the condition of having Vietnamese language proficiency equivalent to level 3. However, the school only has 6 enrollment quotas (equivalent to 4%).

Students applying for direct admission will have to go through an interview round.

The rest, Ngoai Ngu Secondary School will consider admission based on documents with the following scoring method: converted score of 5 years of primary education results + score of PSA (Primary school Student Assessment) comprehensive competency assessment.

The maximum converted score from the 5-year primary school report card is 20 points. Specifically, students who complete excellently (4 points); Complete well (3 points); Complete (1 point).

The school plans to organize the PSA (Primary school Student Assessment) test twice on April 18-20 and May 23-25.

The 6th grade entrance exam will be held on computer by the school. Candidates can take the exam multiple times and choose one result to submit for admission.

The application period is from June 6 to June 12. The school plans to announce the admission results for grade 6 for the 2025-2026 school year on June 25 and students will enroll just 3 days after the admission results are announced.

Foreign Language Secondary School was established in 2019. In the first year of enrollment, this school only recruited 100 students but had up to 3,000 applications, the competition ratio was 1/30.
