Accordingly, after a long period without a School Council, on April 18, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a Decision to recognize the School Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema for the 2023-2028 term with 15 members; at the same time, issued a Decision to recognize the Chairman of the School Council for Mr. Le Nguyen Dat, Secretary of the Party Cell of Lecturers 2, Chairman of the School's Trade Union.

Mr. Le Nguyen Dat said that after the establishment of the school council, the restructuring of the organizational structure, due to objective and subjective factors, has significantly affected the school's operations. The members of the school council, the Board of Directors, the Party Committee, the staff, lecturers, civil servants and employees of the school are gradually stabilizing. Accordingly, the school council has established the following committees: Personnel Organization Committee; Facilities - Finance Committee; Training Committee and Education Quality Assessment Committee.
In addition to the work achieved since the date of receiving the Decision on establishment, at this meeting, the Board of Directors discussed and approved many items and tasks that need to be implemented in the 2023-2028 term.
Specifically, according to the Facilities and Finance Department, in the coming time, it will carry out inventory and liquidation of assets; plan to purchase and repair facilities and equipment for training in the 2023-2024 school year; at the same time, conduct an inspection of all facilities of the school that are being rented. Proceed to supplement and amend the Internal Expenditure Regulations, supplement the activities of the School Council, on how to calculate costs for retaking classes and retaking exams according to credits; conduct an inspection of the school's student dormitory area regarding facilities; classify the accommodation of staff and students in the dormitory...
The representative of the Education Quality Assessment Board said that they are preparing for the training quality assessment; at the same time, they are reviewing all records and qualifications of professional lecturers, in accordance with the training major to prepare for the teaching arrangement for the new school year 2023-2024 in accordance with regulations.
The Training Department informs about the college enrollment plan for the 2023-2024 school year; the training plan and request to open new university majors for the majors of Traditional Drama, Fine Arts Design and Photography. At the same time, it will also review the curriculum, programs, and lesson plans of the Faculties; continue to promote the organization of short-term training courses.
Representative of the Personnel Organization Board, Mr. Pham Huy Thuc, former Vice Principal of the University of Theater and Cinema, said that the important tasks in the coming time of the University are to review and supplement the personnel planning for the period 2021-2026; new planning for the period 2026-2031; and implement the Project to reorganize and perfect the apparatus.
“In particular, the School needs to complete the staff work on the arrangement and rearrangement of job positions of departments, faculties, and centers. Currently, the School has 13 departments, faculties, and centers without any department heads, but only deputy, in-charge, or “acting” staff… Therefore, in the coming time, the School must quickly complete the leadership and management positions for the departments, faculties, and centers, with a “locomotive” to be able to build the School to develop”, Mr. Pham Huy Thuc confided and emphasized that completing the staff work of the departments, faculties, and centers and especially completing the Board of Directors is the top priority task of the School at present.
At the meeting, members of the School Council, advisory board, professional board, etc. also presented the current situation and suggested many important solutions to develop the School in the coming time.
