From January 20-23, Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission, led a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam to visit and work in Russia.
The delegation had meetings and worked with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenco, Co-Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation, Secretary of the Federal Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, leaders of major Russian political parties such as Secretary of the Plenary Council of the ruling United Russia Party, Vice Chairman of the Federation Council (Senate) of Russia Andrey Turchak, Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov, Vice Chairman of the Just Russia - For Truth Party Alexey Chepa.

During the visit, the delegation visited and laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Moscow.
Comrade Le Hoai Trung and Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov signed an agreement on expanding and deepening cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Russia; attended a roundtable conference organized by the United Russia Party with the theme “The role of responsible political forces of Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries in the formation of a new just world order”; visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia.

The two sides affirmed that they attach importance to the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the relationship between Russian political parties and the Communist Party of Vietnam as the political foundation for the relationship between the two countries and their peoples.
The Vietnamese delegation expressed the appreciation of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for the great and effective assistance of the Party, State and people of the Soviet Union, including Russia, during the two resistance wars of the Vietnamese people and Russia's cooperation and assistance over the past many years.
The two sides also highly appreciated the developments in the relationship in recent times, including phone calls between General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev, the signing of the Joint Statement on the Vision of the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership until 2030; the visit to Vietnam by Chairman of the United Russia Party at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; meetings between leaders of the two countries within the framework of international conferences, visits and working sessions of leaders of the National Assembly; the working results of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee and the implementation of specific cooperation between sectors and enterprises in recent times.

Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia Zyuganov emphasized the significance of cooperation between the two parties on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's arrival in Russia (1923-2023) and the signing of a new cooperation agreement between the two parties on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (January 21, 1924 - January 21, 2024), the leader of the proletariat.
At the conference between the United Russia Party and political parties in Southeast Asia on the responsibility of political parties in promoting justice in the world, the Vietnamese delegation highly appreciated the conference as an opportunity for parties to exchange information on the international situation, views on measures for peace, friendship, cooperation, development, promoting the role of parties in each country and in international cooperation to promote efforts for those goals.
