(PLVN) - On March 25, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province coordinated with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club to organize a scholarship awarding ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year for ethnic minority students and students from coastal and island areas, children of officers and professional soldiers of the Border Guard, and students affected by COVID-19.

Speaking at the summary report on the academic results of students receiving scholarships from the Vu A Dinh Fund and the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club from the 2023-2024 school year to present, Mr. Duong Hong Tan - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Lieu province, said: "The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club, students nominated to receive scholarships all have difficult family circumstances and each student received 01 nomination, after receiving the scholarship from the Fund, along with the support of the school and locality.
In general, students have more conditions to continue studying in the next classes at secondary and high schools in the province and have quite good results. Besides, there are still some students due to difficult family circumstances who have switched to vocational training and work to help their families.

In particular, Bac Lieu is a province that always receives the attention of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the “For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa” Club.

Mr. Ngo Vu Thang - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son - Head of Foreign Affairs Department of Political Planning - ACT Telecommunication Joint Stock Company, awarded scholarships of the "For Beloved Hoang Sa - Truong Sa" Club to students who are children of fishermen with difficult circumstances in the province.

At the ceremony, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund awarded 35 scholarships to ethnic minority students in difficult circumstances in Bac Lieu province (each worth 1 million VND). The "For Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Beloved" Club awarded 35 scholarships to students who are children of fishermen in difficult circumstances in the province (each worth 1 million VND). At the same time, a symbolic board of 20 scholarships was awarded to children of soldiers and professional soldiers of the Bac Lieu Provincial Border Guard.

In order to support and accompany orphaned students due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Youth Union and the Women's Union of Bac Lieu province introduced the program to award 05 "Kind Arms" scholarships (each worth 6 million VND/year).
