Rashford sent off, Man Utd lost to Copenhagen
Leading Copenhagen 2-0, Man Utd were reduced to 10 men from the 42nd minute after striker Marcus Rashford was sent off. During a tackle on the right wing of the home field, the English striker stamped his entire foot on the ankle of defender Elias Jelert.

After watching the VAR screen, the referee decided to give Marcus Rashford a red card despite loud protests from Man Utd players.
Commenting on TNT Sport, former Wales midfielder Robbie Savage said the referee's decision to give Rashford a red card was completely correct.
"In my opinion, it was a deserved red card. It was a situation where Rashford wanted to protect the ball at his feet, but the way he did it was a red card. One hundred per cent red card.
He has many ways to protect the ball, but not by using the studs on the sole of his boot. He dives between the opposing player and the ball, but in doing so, he may accidentally or intentionally use the sole of his boot.
No complaints, it was a correct red card. It was dangerous for the opponent. There was no way Rashford could stay on the pitch with that situation," Robbie Savage affirmed.

However, football experts Jamie Carragher, Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes disagree with Robbie Savage's views.
"There's no way that was a red card for Rashford! I hate slow motion replays and static images make everything look ten times worse," Carragher said on social network X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves said: "No, it's not a red card. He was just trying to get his foot up to control the ball. He didn't mean to foul and there was no malice, it wasn't a serious foul."
Scholes added: "It was an accident. He was trying to protect his ball, put his foot up. That's where the referee's understanding of the game comes into question."
Just minutes after Rashford was sent off, Copenhagen pulled one back to reduce the deficit to 1-2 thanks to Mohamed Elyounoussi's strike.
Then, in first-half stoppage time, Diogo Goncalves scored from the penalty spot after a Harry Maguire handball to level the scores at 2-2. Although Man Utd went on to take a 3-2 lead in the 69th minute after a successful penalty from Bruno Fernandes, Copenhagen still won 4-3 on aggregate after two goals scored in the 83rd and 87th minutes.
This defeat pushed Man Utd to the bottom of Group A and put them at risk of being eliminated from the Champions League group stage.
