Hanoi Conductor Tran Nhat Minh - Thanh Hang's husband - conducts the World Youth Symphony Orchestra - during the artists' first visit to Vietnam.
As a guest conductor of the Thang Long Night Concert at the National Academy of Music on the evening of April 6, Tran Nhat Minh and international artists played many classic pieces of Vietnamese and international music. In the performance of songs adapted from folk songs, his energetic conducting style led the audience through many emotional levels, deep with Quan Ho melodies such as Ra ngo vao trong, Xe chi lon kim, explosive with sounds borrowed from the Northwest such as P thien cho vung cao, Dieu vu. At the end of each performance, the artists received applause from many international audiences.

As one of the audience, Mr. Honna Tetsuji - principal conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra - said: "The performance is a great opportunity for friends from many countries to enjoy music and learn about Vietnamese culture. I was really impressed with the folk songs played by the symphony orchestra. Conductor Tran Nhat Minh is a truly talented person, contributing a lot to the success of the show."
In addition to the traditional material, Tran Nhat Minh also performed the prelude to Gioachino Rossini's The Barber of Seville , and Vincenzo Bellini's Norma - two Italian composers. In the second part of the program, conductor Damiano Guiranna led the artists to perform some works by Russian composer Tchaikovsky.

Conductor Tran Nhat Minh said he appreciated the opportunity to work with the World Youth Symphony Orchestra - a gathering of many talents from many countries. He had four rehearsals before the program. "Musicians from other countries like to play Vietnamese folk songs. I don't even need instructions because they research online and have their own feelings," the conductor said.
Tran Nhat Minh, 42 years old, graduated with a master's degree in Russia, currently works at the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera. He has won awards at many international competitions and is the music director for a series of live shows by Ha Anh Tuan, Le Quyen, and Thanh Thao.

The World Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2001 by Italian conductor Damiano Giuranna with the aim of building a cultural diplomacy project and spreading music. In 23 years, the organization has welcomed more than 2,000 artists from many countries. They build support funds, hold music workshops in remote areas of many countries, aiming to find solutions to help children access art in difficult circumstances.

The orchestra was nominated as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and received an honorary medal from the Italian leadership. They have many projects funded by the European Union and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Conductor Damiano Giuranna received the Silver Shield and the Medal from the President of the Italian Republic for his outstanding contributions to the fields of culture and society.
After the performance at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, they will have the Puccini Opera Gala , on April 10 at the Hanoi Opera House. Conductor Damiano Giuranna and his students will perform in honor of the Italian composer Puccin (1858-1924).
The World Youth Symphony Orchestra's tour in Hanoi is part of the Sound of Brotherhood project, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Academy of Music, initiated by artist Bui Cong Duy.
