Ho Chi Minh City strengthens search and movement of martyrs' remains to northern provinces

The conference was chaired by Colonel Tran The Tuyen - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Lawyers and Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Lawyers. Before the conference, delegates solemnly observed a minute of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Speaking at the Conference, Lieutenant General Tran Tan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Family Law Enforcement Officers highly appreciated the effectiveness of the City Association of Family Law Enforcement Officers. Many of the Association's practices and experiences need to be replicated in other localities to widely spread practical gratitude activities.

In the coming time, Lieutenant General Tran Tan Hung suggested that the Association continue to implement more effective solutions in searching for information on martyrs, martyrs' graves and supporting the return of martyrs' remains to their hometowns, expanding connections with Association organizations nationwide to continuously improve the quality of activities.

In the first 6 months of this year, the Association received 15 petitions requesting support in finding martyrs' graves; the results verified and concluded the return of names to 2 martyrs and carefully supported 8 cases in safely moving martyrs' remains to their hometowns in the northern provinces.

Up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Martyrs and Families has collected information on more than 16,000 martyrs in 7 martyr cemeteries in Tay Ninh province to the list of martyrs, bringing the total number of martyrs collected by the Association to nearly 50,000 people to establish the Vietnam Martyrs Information Library. Carrying out the work of gratitude, the Association has also visited and presented 180 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families of martyrs and policy beneficiaries; presented 2 gratitude houses in Can Gio district; repaired 3 gratitude houses and provided capital support to 2 families of martyrs in difficult circumstances in Can Gio district with a total cost of more than 350 million VND.

In the coming time, the Association of Martyrs and Martyrs said that it will continue to promote the work of searching for information and martyrs' remains and support martyrs' families to transfer the remains of martyrs in the southern battlefield to their homeland in the North.

At the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Martyrs and Martyrs also presented gifts to 12 families of martyrs in difficult circumstances in the area.
