According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (June 17), the weather in the Southern region is cloudy, sunny during the day; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the afternoon and evening. In the Southwest region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Southwest wind level 2 - 3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature is from 25 - 28 degrees Celsius, the highest is from 32 - 25 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, in the weather forecast for the Ho Chi Minh City area in the coming days, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that the southwest monsoon is currently operating at medium intensity.

In the next 10 days, the low pressure trough with an axis at about 25 - 28 degrees North latitude connecting with the hot low pressure area in the West will be active. Above, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the Central region will gradually lift its axis to the North, until around June 22, it will have an axis across the Northern region and operate stably. From June 18 onwards, the Southwest monsoon will gradually become stronger. Around June 19 - 20, a high-altitude wind convergence zone will form, strongly affecting the weather in the Ho Chi Minh City area.
Based on the above weather conditions, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that from now until June 20, rain in Ho Chi Minh City will increase in both area and volume, with scattered to widespread rain; some places will have moderate, heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, it is necessary to be on guard against tornadoes and strong gusts of wind that can be dangerous to people and cause property damage.
“Beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and gusts of wind that may occur during thunderstorms. Beware of heavy rain that may cause deep flooding on some roads” - Southern Hydrometeorological Station warns.
