Ho Chi Minh City has 2 new Vice Chairmen of People's Committee

TPO - At the special session of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, delegates attending the meeting elected Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation as Vice Chairwomen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

At the 15th Session (special session) of the 10th term Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, held on the morning of May 19, the City People's Council carried out the work of appointing key officials of the city.

Accordingly, the meeting elected Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation as Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

As a result, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy were elected as Vice Chairmen of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Also at the meeting, delegates elected Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai was born in 1967, hometown Long An province, has a Master's degree in Law, Advanced Political Theory.

During his career, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai has made many contributions to the development of the prosecution industry in Ho Chi Minh City. He was a member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chief Prosecutor of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy from June 2016 to June 2019.

From July 2019 to June 2020, Mr. Hai was Deputy Head of the Standing Committee (August 2019) and Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee (from January 2020).

From July 2020 to present, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai has been a member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. Currently, Mr. Hai is a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy was born in 1977, hometown Ho Chi Minh City, has a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Master's degree in Party Building and State Administration, and Senior Political Theory.

During her career, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy held the following positions: Secretary of Tan Phu District Youth Union, Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, President of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union before being assigned as Deputy Secretary of Go Vap District Party Committee and then Secretary of Go Vap District Party Committee.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy was appointed as President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation from April 2018 until now. Ms. Dieu Thuy is currently a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

Also at this session, the delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council voted to dismiss Mr. Duong Anh Duc and Mr. Ngo Minh Chau from the positions of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Duong Anh Duc has just been mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to be the Secretary of the District 1 Party Committee. Mr. Ngo Minh Chau has been mobilized and assigned by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to be the Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee.

Effectively implementing Resolution No. 98 of the National Assembly

In the action program when elected as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai pledged to work with the Party Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to focus on leadership to effectively implement the theme of 2024, effectively implement Resolution No. 98 of the National Assembly; innovate, create, promote digital transformation; promote administrative reform, improve the investment environment, and build urban government.

As a National Assembly delegate and participating in the administration of the City, Mr. Hai said he would maintain close contact, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of voters; honestly reflect voters' recommendations to the National Assembly, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, and relevant agencies; coordinate and direct sectors and levels to resolve and respond to citizens' recommendations, complaints and denunciations in accordance with the law.

Realizing specific policy mechanisms to develop Ho Chi Minh City

Presenting her action program when elected as Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy pledged to continue to carry out her duties as a member of the 15th National Assembly and her action program when running for National Assembly, maintaining close ties with voters and people of the city.

With the expected task assigned to be in charge of the cultural and social fields, Ms. Thuy said she will focus on, quickly approach, grasp the implementation situation and progress of work in the assigned fields; promote and realize specific policies and mechanisms to develop Ho Chi Minh City.

Focus on effectively leading and implementing solutions to build an advanced culture imbued with national identity; build Ho Chi Minh cultural space; pay attention to directing grassroots cultural activities, consolidating and developing diverse types of literature - art, physical education - sports...

In addition, Ms. Thuy also committed to effectively implementing 11 programs and projects under the Breakthrough Program for Human Resources and Culture Development of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2020-2025 term.
