TPO - Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - said that in the process of economic development, Ho Chi Minh City always determines the need to connect with the provinces. Mr. Hai suggested that businesses and professional associations of Ho Chi Minh City pay attention to learning to connect opportunities for cooperation and development, expanding the market of the provinces in the Central Coast region.

On October 10, in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh, a conference was held to promote investment in the Central Coast provinces in 2024.

The Central Coast region has potential and advantages for economic development in many fields, especially marine economy and seaports. In addition, one of the advantages of the localities in the region is the geographical location near the largest economic locomotive of the country, Ho Chi Minh City.

However, according to Dr. Tran Du Lich - member of the National Monetary Policy Advisory Council - the problem of the Central region is that it has too much potential, but does not know how to develop and focus on which areas; every locality is the same so it does not know how to connect. This is a big challenge.

According to Dr. Tran Du Lich, the Central region in particular and Vietnam in general in the next 10-15 years will still be the top priority for industrial development potential. Industry in the coming time will have to transform, in both digital transformation and green transformation. These two core issues also pose a problem for the Central region, in which the Central provinces need to have a common voice for development.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai - Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - said that the conference is an important event in the series of 1-year review of the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Program between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Central Coast region.

According to Mr. Hai, in the process of economic development, Ho Chi Minh City always determines the need to connect with the provinces. He suggested that businesses and professional associations of Ho Chi Minh City pay attention to learning to connect opportunities for cooperation and development, expanding the market of the provinces in the Central Coast region. This is considered an opportunity to develop their own businesses, and to contribute to promoting the sustainable development cooperation relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces in the Central Coast region.

Mr. Hai suggested that the Department of Industry and Trade and the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion of Ho Chi Minh City continue to coordinate with departments and branches of localities in the Central Coast region to support and connect with businesses in Ho Chi Minh City and businesses in other provinces to grasp information on cooperation and investment needs in attractive fields and projects.

“Every opportunity that opens up and every memorandum of understanding for investment cooperation that is signed contributes significantly to promoting the socio-economic development of each locality in particular and the region in general,” said Mr. Hai, who also requested that localities continue to pay attention to creating favorable conditions for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City as well as businesses in the Central Coast region in the process of learning about development in the localities.
