Screening for early detection of disabilities for Muong Khuong people

Health examination and consultation for the elderly.

At the program, doctors from the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital performed general health examinations for 165 people. Through screening, 25 children were found to have signs of language disorders, autism, cerebral palsy, 1 child with cleft lip and palate; 9 people were paralyzed after a stroke and many cases of musculoskeletal diseases, insomnia, and vestibular disorders.

All these cases were consulted, guided for intervention and treatment by doctors at district and provincial hospitals.

Screening for early detection of disabilities in children.

At the program, the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital organized the distribution of free medicine and gifts to local people.

Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital has organized more than 20 screening and early detection of disabilities at kindergartens in Lao Cai city and in mountainous and disadvantaged communes in the province. In the programs, in addition to screening and early detection of disabilities, doctors have conducted communication, consultation, and health education, helping people access screening, early detection, and intervention services, increasing the opportunity for rehabilitation and improving the quality of life.
