In early April 2025, many streets and downtown areas of Ho Chi Minh City were brightly decorated with national flags. Joining in the joyful atmosphere of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the city's youth quickly "caught the trend", flocking to the Reunification Palace, central streets of District 1, cafes, and alleys decorated with red flags with yellow stars to record memorable moments and spread patriotism.

A coffee shop on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street (District 3) has become a check-in spot for many young people when decorating the space with small, pretty flags interspersed with large flags and a map of Vietnam.
From early morning, Pham Nga and her husband ( Binh Duong ) did not mind the long distance, driving nearly 30 km to Ho Chi Minh City to "hunt" for photos in an alley with a red flag with a yellow star painted on the wall.
