Ho Chi Minh City is the most popular city, followed by Da Nang, Hanoi, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Hoi An, Hue, Mui Ne. In addition to the two largest cities in the country, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the names mentioned in the list are all coastal cities, showing the strong attraction of Vietnam's sea and island tourism to international visitors. It is forecasted that the number of searches and bookings for these places will continue to increase during the 3 summer months.

In the domestic market, Da Nang was the destination most searched and booked by Vietnamese tourists in the first quarter. The next four destinations include Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Hanoi.

Meanwhile, Bangkok remains a traditional favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists. The next destinations include Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Tokyo, Japan, Singapore and Seoul, South Korea.

In the first two months of the year, Australia was the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam in the APAC region with nearly 98,000 arrivals and ranked 6th worldwide, followed by Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand. Vietnam was also in the top 5 destinations for Australian visitors in the first quarter. Before the pandemic, Malaysia was the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam in APAC. From September 24, national airline Malaysia Airlines opened a direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Da Nang with a frequency of one flight per day, contributing to boosting the number of Malaysian visitors to Vietnam and vice versa.

According to Booking, Vietnam is in the top 3 most searched destinations by Korean tourists, in the top 5 searched by Japanese tourists and in the top 10 searched by Indian tourists.
