In the official dispatch guiding the organization of summer activities in 2024 issued on the afternoon of May 23, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City informed that the time for organizing summer activities is from June 17 to August 16. The Departments of Education and Training and principals of affiliated kindergartens need to compile and approve plans for organizing childcare during the summer.
The Department of Education and Training requires preschools to organize summer activities based on the needs of parents and caregivers. At the same time, childcare is based on the voluntary participation of teachers and the physical conditions of the unit.

The Department also requested the Department of Education and Training to have a plan to inspect the activities of preschools in the area during the summer of 2024, and coordinate with local authorities and unions to monitor childcare activities.
In addition, it is necessary to assign managers to be on duty, handle work, and carry out periodic and ad hoc reports when required.
To help parents conveniently find suitable schools and classes for their children to attend, and avoid sending their children to unlicensed and illegal facilities, the Department of Education and Training requires preschools to provide information and communication to parents and caregivers.
Schools need to ensure enough teachers and strictly implement regulations on disease prevention and control and food hygiene and safety when looking after children.
Regarding the content of activities, the Department allows schools to enhance skills education, play, experience, organize physical training clubs for children, maintain the quality of child care, education, and nutrition according to regulations.
"If we plan to renovate or repair facilities during the summer, we must not let it affect the health and activities of children. For children who are new to school, the school needs to create conditions for parents and caregivers to bring their children to get acquainted with the school, groups, classes and living arrangements," the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training stated.
