On the evening of November 12, General Secretary To Lam attended the National Great Unity Day with the people of Quan Thanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
Also attending were Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee To Thi Bich Chau; leaders of Hanoi city, Ba Dinh district, cadres and people of Quan Thanh ward.
At the festival, General Secretary To Lam and delegates, cadres and people of Quan Thanh ward reviewed the 94-year tradition of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; listened to reports on the situation of the great national unity bloc and the results of implementing campaigns and patriotic emulation movements in 2024 in the locality.
Over the past years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quan Thanh Ward has actively innovated the content and methods of operation, aiming to gather and promote the strength of the Great National Unity. Implementing the viewpoint of "people are the root", relying on the people to promote the role of mastery, sense of responsibility, creativity and all resources of the people; creating social consensus according to the motto "The Party speaks, the people believe; The Front and mass organizations mobilize, the people follow; The government acts, the people support".
In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quan Thanh Ward regularly encourages all classes of people to enthusiastically participate in patriotic emulation movements, campaigns and actively participate in building and protecting the Party and Government, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the tasks of economic, cultural, social, national defense and security development, contributing to building Quan Thanh Ward to maintain the key area of the Capital.
Expressing his joy at attending the Great Unity Day in the area, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam commended the achievements and efforts of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Hanoi city in general, Ba Dinh district and Quan Thanh ward in particular, over the past time.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that after nearly 80 years of founding the country and nearly 40 years of renovation, under the correct and wise leadership of the Party, the drastic participation of the entire political system; the joint efforts and consensus of the people; promoting national strength with the strength of the times, the Vietnamese revolutionary cause has achieved great achievements. In each historical period, the strength of the great national unity bloc has always been one of the most important and powerful resources for the entire Party, people and army to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully carry out the cause of renovation, develop the country in general and build a peaceful, cultural, civilized and modern capital in particular.
Stating that our country has gathered all the necessary conditions and is facing a historic opportunity to enter a new era, an era of national growth, however, to achieve this, the General Secretary said that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoint of "taking the people as the center and subject of all policies and strategies", "taking the happiness and prosperity of the people as the goal to strive for", focusing on removing difficulties and "bottlenecks" to clear, mobilize and effectively exploit all resources, create opportunities, liberate all potentials, strongly promote socio-economic development, improve the material and spiritual life of the people, ensure that all people enjoy the fruits of innovation and development, and no one is left behind.
General Secretary To Lam believes and hopes that the people in the area will continue to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition, promote the fine traditional cultural identity and the strength of great national unity, and work together with the local Party Committee and government to strive to build Quan Thanh ward as well as all localities in Ba Dinh district and the entire city of Hanoi to become increasingly rich, civilized, and modern, worthy of the glorious tradition of the heroic district of the heroic capital, the cultural district of the civilized capital, and the peaceful district of the city for peace.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented gifts to 15 veterans who participated in the liberation of the capital and the Dien Bien Phu battlefield; 16 party members with over 70 years of Party membership, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man presented gifts to the Quan Thanh ward and presented 22 gifts to couples who have lived happily together for over 50 years and are exemplary cultural families; Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Inspection Committee Tran Cam Tu, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai also presented gifts to exemplary people in the area.
