In celebration of the 134th anniversary of the province's founding (March 21, 1890 - March 21, 2024), on the morning of March 19, at October 14 Square, the opening ceremony of the Provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival on March 21 took place. Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee.

Provincial leaders attended the opening ceremony of the provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival on March 21.

On March 21, 1890, the Governor-General of Indochina issued a decree to establish Thai Binh province. Thai Binh is a place where cultural and civilized nuances of the Northern Delta converge and spread, both bearing typical cultural characteristics of the residents of the Red River Delta and having its own nuances due to the profound impact of the characteristics of land and population formation. The province still preserves a huge treasure of cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, with nearly 3,000 ancient architectural works, hundreds of traditional festivals, traditional craft villages, games, and folk performances imbued with the traditional cultural nuances of the Vietnamese people...

At the ceremony, delegates and local people reviewed the heroic history of Thai Binh, a land of "spiritual and talented people", associated with thousands of years of national construction and defense.

At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council beat the drum to open the festival.

Right after the opening ceremony, a performance of folk dances took place. This is the highlight of the series of activities of the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of the province this year. The dances are like a diverse and unique picture recreating the traditional cultural features of the land and people of Thai Binh that are still preserved to this day such as: Bat Dat dance, scissors dance, spear and flag dance, Senh Tien - Mo Loon dance, Ong Dung and Ba Da dance, Trac drum dance, stilt walking, dragon dance...

The program contributes to arousing pride and patriotism; encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the province to promote tradition, actively work, produce, and study. At the same time, it creates a vibrant competitive atmosphere, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress.
