The first Cultural Festival of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas of Binh Thuan Province in 2024 will take place for 3 days, from December 11 to 13, 2024 in Phan Thiet City, promising many attractive, exciting and colorful contents.
With the theme "Preserving, promoting and spreading the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas associated with tourism development", the festival has the participation of 7 districts in the province: Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam, Ham Tan, Tanh Linh, Duc Linh.
The festival has 3 main activities. Specifically, in the folk song, folk dance, folk music and traditional costume performance festival of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas with the theme "Sound of the mountains and forests", each group will participate in building a comprehensive folk song, dance and music program including genres of folk songs, folk dance, folk music, traditional costume performance of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas. The scientific discussion program "Current situation and solutions to preserve and promote traditional costumes of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Binh Thuan province", with the participation of cultural managers of the Department of Ethnic Culture of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, sectors, unions of the province and some provinces with similar ethnic minorities, such as Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Dak Nong and Dak Lak. There is also a space to display and promote local traditional culture to introduce achievements in production, construction, national defense, socio-economic development, national security and defense, and building community cultural life; tourism products, typical destinations, etc.
The first Cultural Festival of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas of Binh Thuan Province is an activity to honor the good traditional cultural values, preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam in general and 35 ethnic groups in Binh Thuan province in particular. Create conditions for artisans, actors, and public collaborators to meet, exchange experiences, raise awareness and consciousness in preserving, promoting, connecting and spreading traditional cultural values. Thereby promoting socio-economic development, improving the enjoyment of spiritual and cultural life for the people, associated with the development of local community tourism.
At the same time, the festival also contributes to building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development according to Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee; Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW, dated June 4, 2020 of the Politburo.
