This is an annual State award organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Publishing Association. The National Book Award is an award given to books (book series) with outstanding value in terms of ideological content, knowledge, and aesthetics.
The books have a strong impact on the community; encourage and honor authors and those working in the field of Vietnamese book publishing, contribute to discovering, preserving and promoting valuable works to readers, create motivation to promote the publishing career to develop in the right direction and in line with the integration trend.
Delegates attend the 6th National Book Awards ceremony in 2023.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Pham Minh Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Publishing Association, Chairman of the National Book Award Council, said that this year's award attracted 41 publishers to submit books with 312 titles and 435 books, an increase of more than 15% compared to 2022. The books and book series proposed for the award are all of guaranteed quality, with rich content, beautiful form, multidisciplinary, multi-purpose and aimed at many different readers. Many books and book series have high theoretical and practical value, are topical and are of interest to society.
Comrade Pham Minh Tuan shared that the National Book Award Council assessed that the books and book series honored this time were carefully invested, rich in topics, sophisticated in content, massive in scale, diverse in style and rich in creativity, with a profound humanistic spirit. Among them, many works with exploration, breakthrough, novelty and appeal were well received and highly appreciated by readers. The appeal and far-reaching effects of the works increasingly affirm the great support of the entire political system and the entire people for the Vietnamese Publishing Industry.

The A prize winners are the book "Scientific basis for determining the outer limits of the continental shelf of Vietnam according to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea" edited by Bui Cong Que, published by the Natural Sciences and Technology Publishing House, and the book series "Hello Vietnamese" (Level 1: Going out to sea, Level 2: Discovery) by author Nguyen Thuy Anh, published by the Vietnam Education Publishing House.

In order for publishing activities to meet the requirements of the period of national integration and development, comrade Do Van Chien suggested that competent agencies need to perform well the role of management and orientation in publishing activities, promptly removing difficulties.
In addition, publishers, distribution units, and publishing associations continue to improve operational efficiency, focus on investment, organize the publication of many valuable books, and maximize the strengths of the 4th industrial revolution to disseminate and promote Vietnamese publications to a wide range of international friends and the Vietnamese community abroad.

Mr. Tran Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department and Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam presented awards to authors, translators, representatives of publishing houses and book companies that won C prizes.
18 Encouragement prizes were awarded to authors, translators, publishers and book companies.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 41 works, including: 2 A prizes; 10 B prizes; 11 C prizes, 18 Encouragement prizes.
