This morning, March 20 in Ho Chi Minh City, the organizing committee of the 2025 International Student Youth Football Tournament - THACO Cup (2025 International Student Youth Football Tournament) held a technical meeting and drew lots to schedule the tournament.

The 2025 International Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, with professional support from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), will kick off from March 22 to March 30 at Ton Duc Thang University's football field, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

6 teams participating in the 2025 International Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup, including 2 Vietnamese student teams: Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism (champion of the 3rd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2025 THACO Cup) and the host team is Ton Duc Thang University. 4 Southeast Asian student teams include: Life University from Cambodia, Lao University, Malaysian University and Nanyang Technological University from Singapore.

Journalist Hai Thanh affirmed that the organization of the 2025 International Youth Student Football Tournament - THACO Cup aims to help Vietnamese student football teams increase their motivation in domestic tournaments, thereby seeking opportunities to compete professionally at a high level. The competition between teams in many countries can contribute to inspiring the school football movement of universities in the region.

"In order to complete the preparations for the International Youth Student Football Tournament while the final round of the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament was still taking place, the organizing committee had to make every effort to create the most favorable conditions for the teams participating in the tournament. At the ceremony this morning, the representative of the Life University football team in Cambodia said that this university was established in Sihanouk Ville province in 2006, students study many different majors at the school. The president of the school is a football lover, so he always encourages students to play football after school hours. To date, this university has a team participating in many tournaments. In 2024, the team won the championship of the university tournament in Cambodia.

"Now our team is participating in the 2025 International TNSV - THACO Cup, I hope this will be the best new experience for my players. The team representative said that with the 2025 International TNSV - THACO Cup, this will be an important step in the development process of all players.

The Malaysian representative admitted that the team will face many challenges and difficulties. Especially during the holy month of Ramadan, the players must absolutely balance between strict training and fasting, which requires discipline and extraordinary mental strength. However, everyone is trying very hard.

"We are here to compete and learn. The tournament is an invaluable opportunity for the players to experience the thrill of an international tournament, to absorb and learn the strategies and skills of the other team's players. At the draw ceremony this morning, representatives of the Nanyang Technological University football team from Singapore said they would focus on demonstrating their ability and dedicating themselves to the sport. At the same time, the team sees this as an opportunity to connect and interact with friends from many countries in Southeast Asia.
