According to Reuters , on March 15, TikTok sent a notice to some users in the US calling for support for the application before the legal battle in Congress.
TikTok wants its more than 117 million users in the US to influence their senators to block a bill that would force ByteDance to divest from TikTok if it wants to continue operating in the country.

“Tell your senator how important TikTok is to you. Ask them to vote against the TikTok ban,” TikTok’s announcement reads. The app even provides users with the phone number of each senator in each state.
TikTok also emphasized to users that if the US Senate passes the bill, the future of this application in the US will end.
Previously, on March 13, the US House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill forcing ByteDance - TikTok's parent company - to divest TikTok in the US within 6 months or face a ban. However, the bill still has to pass a vote in the Senate.
A White House spokesman said President Joe Biden is ready to sign the bill if it is passed by the US Congress.
“We will continue to keep our users informed about how the bill will affect them and what they can do to make their voices heard,” a TikTok spokesperson said.
The warning is displayed when some people open the app and also appears when users search for “TikTok ban.”
TikTok sent a similar warning to users ahead of the House vote, saying “the government is going to take away the social network you and millions of other Americans love.”
US lawmakers later complained that their offices were flooded with calls from TikTok users protesting the bill.
