Mr. Nguyen Quang Chuc, Director of the Quang Tri Monuments and Museum Management Center, said that the Provincial People's Committee has just directed the Provincial Department of Finance to contact the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance to provide information and receive support from Ho Chi Minh City to repair, restore, disassemble, transport and install the C-119 aircraft from Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province to display at the national relic Ta Con Airport.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Provincial Department of Finance to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate the above funds.
Previously, on October 3, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to support Quang Tri province with 4 billion VND to bring the C-119 aircraft from Bien Hoa City to Ta Con Airport. This is to invest in, preserve, restore and promote the historical value of Ta Con Airport.
In 2016, the C-119 aircraft was given to Quang Tri province by the Ministry of National Defense. This is a valuable historical exhibit, especially in the context of Quang Tri province moving towards building a war relic museum in the 2026-2030 period.
Since 2016, Quang Tri province has had a contract with A41 Factory to bring this aircraft back as an artifact. However, due to budget constraints, the implementation of the contract has been delayed many times. However, due to the historical value of this aircraft, Quang Tri province is determined to find every way to bring this aircraft back to display locally.
Currently, the Ta Con Airport relic has a C-130 aircraft numbered 532, handed over by Factory A41 of the Air Defense - Air Force in 2012. This aircraft fought in the Khe Sanh - Ta Con battlefield nearly 60 years ago.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Chuc said that adding a large aircraft like the C-119 will increase the number of artifacts, creating a true military airport space in Ta Con.
