Participating in spring festivals has become a beautiful feature in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people and carries deep humanistic meaning, meeting spiritual needs, remembering ancestors, heroes who built and defended the country, wishing for a favorable start to the new year... In recent years, the organization and management of festivals in the province have had many positive changes, preserving and promoting the cultural traditions and fine customs of the nation.

On February 3, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Official Dispatch No. 09/CD-TTg requesting ministries, branches and localities to practice a civilized, safe and economical lifestyle in festival activities after the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival in 2025. Implementing the direction, the Provincial People's Committee also issued a document directing localities to strictly implement. Festival organizing committees in the province have closely followed the operating regulations and rules for protecting relics, organizing instructions for people, visitors and ceremonialists to raise awareness of preserving and protecting relics, landscapes and the environment; practicing a civilized and cultural lifestyle in religious and belief activities and festivals; maintaining the solemnity and sacredness of places of worship, pushing back shortcomings, negativity, and behaviors that are not in accordance with traditional customs such as burning incense, burning votive papers, placing too many donation boxes, commercializing festivals, displaying goods in a disorderly manner and arbitrarily raising prices, etc.
Right from the first days of the new year, at the Tran Temple historical and cultural relic site, Loc Vuong ward (Nam Dinh city), a large number of people and tourists from all over the country came to pray for peace. In particular, on the night of February 11 (January 14, At Ty year), thousands of tourists came to participate in the Tran Temple Seal Opening Ceremony. The seal opening ceremony is a long-standing custom, expressing the people's gratitude to the Tran Kings through a ritual simulating the royal ceremony - bestowing the seal. The management and organization of the festival has many positive changes, from business activities in the festival area to ensuring security, order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, etc. The loudspeaker system in the festival area regularly propagates legal regulations related to the organization and management of the festival, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of tourists when attending the festival. With the close attention and direction of the authorities, the Tran Temple Seal Opening Festival in 2025 was organized solemnly, safely, economically, with full traditional rituals, ensuring security, order, safety, civilized and cultural lifestyle. The people participating also performed well the festival's civilization, contributing to promoting the value of the nation's cultural heritage, leaving a good impression of the province on visitors from all over the world.
Not only the big festivals such as Tran Temple, Phu Day... at festivals in localities in the province, the implementation of civilized lifestyle is also well directed and implemented. The whole Nam Truc district has more than 20 festivals held from January to the end of the third lunar month, concentrated in the communes: Nam Dien, Hong Quang, Nam Hung, Tan Thinh, Nam Duong, Nam Giang town... The festivals are diverse and rich, connecting the past and present, deeply demonstrating the national morality of "When drinking water, remember its source". The district People's Committee and functional agencies have conducted activities to review and evaluate the status of each type of festival, on that basis assigning, arranging, and organizing departments and forces to participate in upgrading and renovating them to be spacious, clean and beautiful, both preserving the traditional beauty and ensuring the aesthetics of each type of festival. Attending the 2025 Vi Khe Flower and Ornamental Plants Traditional Festival, we witnessed the joyful and excited atmosphere of the people when admiring the unique works of ornamental plants. The festival is held from January 12 to 16 every year, to honor the founder of the flower and ornamental plant growing profession, To Trung Tu, and to display the ornamental plant works of local artisans, for them to visit, evaluate, and learn from experience. With the philosophy of "remembering the source of water when drinking", the festival is solemnly organized by the locality and community with many traditional rituals. The festival consists of two parts: The ceremony includes rituals: worshiping male and female officials, carrying typical flowers and ornamental plants to the village temple, and offering incense to the founder of the craft village. The festival includes activities such as displaying rare flowers, unique bonsai trees, performing arts and folk games such as human chess, Chinese chess, tom diem, cockfighting, tug of war, etc. The festival is also attractive and exciting with bonsai tree shaping skills competition, bonsai flower competition to vote for the most beautiful works to award prizes, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the large number of people and tourists attending the festival.
In addition to the achieved results, festival activities in the province still have some shortcomings. The awareness of complying with regulations, rules, and preserving the dignity of places of worship of some tourists is not high, there is still a situation of dressing casually, offensively, and lacking culture when going to festivals. The phenomenon of littering causing environmental pollution is still quite common at festivals... Hopefully, along with the close attention and direction of the authorities, each person will also raise their awareness, consciousness, and responsibility so that festivals take place more and more civilized. Implementing a civilized lifestyle in festival activities creates a good impression on tourists, promoting the rapid and sustainable development of the province's tourism industry.
