Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that science, technology and innovation have been playing a very important role in the socio-economic development of the country. In key areas such as agriculture, construction, health, education and industry. Science, technology and innovation are not only the main driving force to improve productivity and sustainable growth but also help create new business models, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and countries in the international arena.
With the desire to promote more effectively the application, technology transfer, innovation, bring added value, contribute to and promote socio-economic growth, the Ministry of Science and Technology hopes to continue to receive the coordination of departments, ministries, branches, localities, enterprises and scientists across the country. Thereby, contributing to strengthening coordination, improving connectivity and unity in the strategic vision of developing the innovation system; in which enterprises play a central role, university research institutes are strong research subjects; promoting the socialization of investment resources for science, technology and innovation, especially resources from enterprises.
Along with that, strengthen coordination and allocate appropriate resources to focus on implementing support solutions, encourage enterprises to improve their technology absorption capacity and promote technological innovation activities; deploy solutions to develop a synchronous, effective and integrated science and technology market.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son said that Hanoi is home to more than 70% of the country's scientific and technological organizations, universities, research institutes and 82% of the country's laboratories (including 14 national key laboratories), with more than 65% of the country's leading scientists living and working there. The city identifies this as a particularly important advantage for the capital to focus on investing in the development of science, technology and innovation.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son emphasized that the Law on the Capital (amended) recently passed by the National Assembly will contribute to removing bottlenecks and obstacles in the development of science, technology and innovation in Hanoi. The Law on the Capital (amended) has also added special incentive mechanisms and policies to support Hanoi in developing high-tech zones, innovation centers and advanced technology business models. This will create an important premise for Hanoi to become the innovation center of the country and the region.
“Hanoi is committed to continuing to accompany businesses, organizations and scientists, creating the most favorable conditions for the development of science, technology and innovation,” emphasized Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son.
The Vietnam Technology and Innovation Connection Event 2024 is organized on a national scale, including the following main activities: 5 forums connecting technology and innovation (Forum on technology management policies serving socio-economic development; Technology forum for the construction industry; Technology forum for the health industry; Technology forum for the agriculture and rural development industry; High-tech investment promotion forum); Seminar on the role of innovation with enterprises in the capital; Demonstration and introduction of technological achievements in 2024, connecting technology supply and demand; Conference on application, technology transfer and local innovation activities in 2024.
The organizers said that this year's event attracted 200 booths displaying new domestic and foreign technological achievements applied to production and business in many industries and fields.
On this occasion, the Department of Technology Development and Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in technology transfer and innovation with the Center for Technology Development and Innovation (Spain); and the Korean Smart Manufacturing Office.
