According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the occasion of attending the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), on the morning of January 21 (local time), in Davos (Switzerland), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the warm regards and New Year wishes of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh himself to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang, Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning.
Deputy Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang also conveyed greetings and New Year wishes from the leaders of the Chinese Party and Government to key leaders of Vietnam.
The two sides expressed their delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the building of a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, especially the recent successful phone call between General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, officially announcing the launch of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of attaching importance to and giving top priority to relations with China; affirmed that Vietnam supports China's global initiatives on development, security and civilization proposed by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, hoping and believing that these initiatives will bring common benefits to countries.
Chinese Deputy Premier Ding Xuexiang affirmed that China highly values its relations with Vietnam and believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by Comrade To Lam, Vietnam will successfully organize the 14th Party Congress, bringing the country into a new era of development.
Regarding the direction of promoting relations between the two countries in the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides continue to promote visits and contacts at high and all levels; review and effectively implement signed cooperation agreements, promote deeper connections between the two economies; focus on implementing large, symbolic projects, especially cooperation in capital, technology and human resource training to deploy standard gauge railways connecting Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong in 2025 and Lang Son - Hanoi, Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong in the coming time.
Along with traditional areas of cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides promote cooperation in science, technology, and innovation, focusing on areas where China has strengths such as big data, cloud computing, quantum, microbiology, etc., and support Vietnam in successfully implementing the historic Resolution 57 on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation, and national digital transformation.
Expressing his approval and appreciation for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's instructions, Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Ding Xuexiang emphasized that China is ready to work with Vietnam to promote exchanges and cooperation in line with the "6 more" orientation agreed upon by the leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Dinh Tiet Tuong suggested that the two sides effectively implement high-level visits and contacts; jointly review and enhance exchanges, promote specific progress in cooperation areas, especially projects that are symbolic of the bilateral relationship; effectively implement a series of activities of the Year of Humanitarian Exchange and the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations; and firmly promote the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
