Under the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, in the bright sunlight, with brilliant flags and flowers, along with songs praising President Ho Chi Minh, Dominican friends and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government, offered flowers and took a moment of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, the national hero, the world cultural celebrity who devoted his whole life to national independence, peace, democracy and justice, social progress, the leader and soul of the resistance wars of the Vietnamese people against the invasion of French imperialism (1946-1954) and the intervention and invasion of American imperialism (1954-1975), contributing significantly to the collapse of old colonialism and neo-colonialism around the world, the initiator and leader of the cause of building socialism in Vietnam.
On the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the capital Santo Domingo, President Ho Chi Minh's dedication to his contributions is engraved, emphasizing his saying: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom!"; "Unity, unity, great unity/Success, success, great success". Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor of Santo Domingo Dio Astacio expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh's resilience and indomitable spirit in the face of adversity, as well as the rich history, culture, strength and determination that the country and people of Vietnam have demonstrated to the world. He recalled the famous sayings of President Ho Chi Minh and said that these sayings "still resonate" with all those who respect the sovereignty and self-determination of nations.
He said that this ceremony is also an event to honor the friendly and close relationship between the two countries, based on mutual respect and for the prosperous future of the two peoples.
Comrade Miguel Mejia, General Secretary of the MIU Party, Minister of Regional Integration Policy of the Dominican Republic, emphasized that the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - the highest-level visit since the two countries established diplomatic relations, is an important milestone in bilateral relations, towards the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, with many results achieved in promoting cooperation in key areas, opening a new chapter in economic, trade and investment cooperation and affirming that Vietnam always has a space here.

According to the Prime Minister, the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Santo Domingo and the Prof. Juan Bosch Monument in Hanoi are symbols of solidarity, close ties, sharing, and understanding between the two countries and their people; honoring the friendship and honoring the leaders of the two countries; a red address for educating generations of Vietnamese and Dominican people, and an attractive destination for tourists.
The Prime Minister sincerely thanked General Secretary and Minister of Regional Integration Miguel Mejia, the leadership of the United Left Movement Party, the Mayor of Santo Domingo and Dominican friends for their friendship and positive contributions to Vietnam and the relations between the two countries and peoples over the past years, especially during the construction (March 2013) and completion of the restoration of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Santo Domingo, showing good feelings towards President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam.
The Prime Minister said that in the current context, it is necessary to strengthen international solidarity and promote multilateralism to solve global problems that no single country can solve on its own; therefore, the two countries need to continue to promote the fine tradition of friendship that previous generations have built and nurtured, continue to unite and help each other in national development.

The Prime Minister knew that during this visit, he and Dominican leaders agreed to bring the relationship between the two countries to a new height, to a new stage of development. Accordingly, the two sides will continue to strengthen friendship and good political relations; create a legal foundation to facilitate business cooperation, investment and promote travel and people-to-people exchanges; further expand cooperation in potential and important areas such as digital economy, green economy, circular economy, energy, tourism, and areas where the two sides have complementary strengths.
At the same time, a number of specific projects that can be implemented as soon as possible related to the fields of energy, climate change, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things, etc. were identified. The two sides discussed strategic and specific issues, determining the implementation roadmap with the spirit of clear people, clear work, clear time, and clear products.
