(CLO) On March 3, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to announce the project to reorganize the apparatus and deploy key tasks.
According to the Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, the Department of Culture and Sports takes over the state management function of press and publishing from the Department of Information and Communications; at the same time, reorganize internal tasks.
After receiving additional tasks and restructuring the apparatus, the Department of Culture and Sports has 10 specialized departments and 25 public service units.

In which, the Press Department and the Publishing, Printing and Distribution Department merged into the Press - Publishing Department, with Mr. Trinh Huu Anh as the head of the department. The deputy heads of the department are Ms. Nguyen Le Van and Ms. Pham Thi Yen.

At the conference, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran The Thuan appreciated the dedication and contributions of individuals after the reorganization. He shared with the officials who previously held the position of chief but are now in the role of deputy chief in a larger, broader unit.
Mr. Tran The Thuan said the Department of Culture and Sports will continue to streamline staff and organize the apparatus to meet future needs.
According to him, after the merger, the amount of work will be greater and the requirements will be higher because this is the year with many important events, in addition to the April 30th celebration, there is also the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day...
In the coming time, he asked the deputy directors in charge and the departments and offices to rebuild a complete plan. In which, he identified communication as one of the indispensable factors in the development process of the culture and sports industry.
