Japanese Prime Minister Kishida is expected to reshuffle his cabinet in the summer or later and dissolve the lower house of parliament to hold a snap election as early as the fall.
Jiji news agency on July 3 quoted a high-ranking source in Japan 's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) predicting that Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will reshuffle the cabinet and LDP leadership in August or September.
The prediction by LDP General Council Chairman Toshiaki Endo comes amid speculation that Kishida could reshuffle his cabinet in the summer or later and dissolve the lower house to hold a snap election as early as the fall.
Regarding the LDP's electoral cooperation with its coalition partner Komeito, Endo mentioned the LDP's plan to support the Komeito candidate in Saitama's 14th constituency in the next Lower House election, in return for which the LDP will seek Komeito's support in other constituencies./.
