Vietnamese-American goalkeeper Filip Nguyen joins Hanoi Police Club on a free transfer?

After midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai, Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) continued to successfully recruit Vietnamese-American goalkeeper Filip Nguyen. This player will wear the CAHN shirt in the second phase of V-League 2023.

On June 25, on his personal page, Filip Nguyen posted a status full of hidden meanings, revealing the possibility that he is about to change clubs.

As of today (June 26), according to the reporter's investigation, CAHN Club and goalkeeper Filip Nguyen have reached a contract agreement.

Accordingly, Filip Nguyen will return to Vietnam to play for the CAHN team from the second phase of V-League 2023. It is known that the overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper traveled from the Czech Republic on June 28 and arrived in Vietnam on June 29.

During his first time playing for CAHN Club, Filip Nguyen will play in the position reserved for overseas Vietnamese players (in V-League 2023, each team is allowed to use one overseas Vietnamese player, not considered a foreign player).

Before returning home to play for CAHN Club, goalkeeper Filip Nguyen played for Slovacko team in the Czech Republic on loan from Slovan Liberec Club.

Currently, Filip Nguyen's contract with Slovacko and Slovan Liberec teams has ended and the Vietnamese-American goalkeeper will play for CAHN Club as a free transfer.

Besides CAHN, there were two football teams in Vietnam that expressed interest in recruiting goalkeeper Filip Nguyen, including Thanh Hoa Club and Binh Dinh Club.

Binh Dinh team wanted to recruit Filip Nguyen last season, but could not do so because if Filip Nguyen was used, the martial arts team would have to register this goalkeeper as a foreign player (Filip Nguyen does not have Vietnamese nationality).

After that, Binh Dinh decided to choose goalkeeper Dang Van Lam to replace Filip Nguyen's position in the 2022 season.
