On January 17, Hanoi City held a ceremony to honor and reward Hanoi players who achieved excellent results at the Southeast Asian Football Championship - AFF Cup 2024, to honor the efforts and contributions of Hanoi Club and Hanoi Police Club players to the emotional and proud journey of Vietnamese football recently. Attending the ceremony was Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh expressed his excitement and emotion at having the opportunity to meet outstanding representatives of the sports industry, especially the players who are the reigning ASEAN Cup champions. "That joy is multiplied in the atmosphere of our entire nation and country being excited and enthusiastic under the call of General Secretary To Lam to resolutely strive and transform to prepare to enter a new era - the era of national growth", Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee said.
Sharing the injuries of some players, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh sent his regards and wished striker Xuan Son a speedy recovery from his injury and that the national team in general and Hanoi football clubs in particular would reap many successes and reach new heights in domestic and international arenas. He also sent his greetings to coach Kim Sang-sik who was unable to attend the commendation ceremony.

At the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team consists of 26 members, including 10 players from clubs based in Hanoi.
- Hanoi Club: Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Nguyen Hai Long, Pham Xuan Manh, Pham Tuan Hai.
- Hanoi Police Club: Nguyen Quang Hai, Vu Van Thanh, Filip Nguyen, Le Pham Thanh Long, Bui Hoang Viet Anh.

The brilliance of these players, especially in the second leg of the final at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok), contributed significantly to the 3 goals scored against Thailand, helping Vietnam win the championship.
Worthy reward
Hanoi People's Committee decided to award 50 million VND to each Hanoi player and 2 billion VND to the entire team.
In particular, T&T Group and SHB Bank - founded by Mr. Do Quang Hien - announced a total bonus of 4.4 billion VND for 10 players from the two clubs, specifically:
500 million VND/person for individuals: Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Nguyen Hai Long, Pham Xuan Manh, Pham Tuan Hai (Hanoi Club), Nguyen Quang Hai, Vu Van Thanh (Hanoi Police Club). 300 million VND/person: Filip Nguyen, Le Pham Thanh Long, Bui Hoang Viet Anh.
Previously, right after the victory, SHB Bank awarded 2 billion VND to the entire Vietnamese team at the honoring ceremony at VFF, raising Mr. Hien's total bonus to 6.4 billion VND.

In addition, SHB also organized a private plane to bring 600 fans and players' relatives to Bangkok, creating a strong source of encouragement for the team in the decisive final match.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Quang Hien emphasized: "Your success is not only the pride of individuals, but also the pride of the whole city of Hanoi. You have proven that with the spirit of solidarity, determination and constant efforts, we can achieve good results. You have brought glory to the flag and colors of Hanoi football and contributed to the achievements of Vietnamese football in the regional arena".
Hanoi FC – founded in 2006 – has become the most successful football team in Vietnam with 6 V-League championships, 3 National Cups and 5 National Super Cups. However, for Mr. Hien, success does not stop at titles but also means sustainable development from a professional youth training system.

The capital team has also continuously made its mark in the international arena, notably reaching the quarter-finals of the AFC Cup 2014, winning the Southeast Asian championship and the AFC Cup inter-zone final in 2019. Recently, in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2023 - 2024, Hanoi Club caused a stir with its victory over strong opponents such as Urawa Reds (Japan) and Wuhan Three Towns (China).
In the new era, Hanoi Club and Vietnamese football aim to continue to reach further in the international arena, bringing back greater achievements, affirming Vietnam's position on the map of Asian and world football.
