Accordingly, the subjects use social networks to search for and approach people who want to go abroad. They will guide the victims to complete the procedures for submitting passport and visa applications; requesting portrait photos and citizen identification photos to complete the procedures.

In a short time, the subjects sent back to the victims photos of their passports and visas that were identified as fake, cropped, and edited. They informed the victims of their departure time and asked them to be present at the airport to receive their documents.

When the victim initially trusts, the subjects continue to send fake documents from the Immigration Department - Ministry of Public Security, with the content of "verifying and proving income and financial sources", requiring a large sum of money to be transferred to the Immigration Department's account to complete the application and will be returned after 30-40 minutes. If the victim trusts and transfers money, the scammers will appropriate it.

Faced with this new scam, Thu Duc City Police issued a warning to people to protect personal information and be selective before sharing.

People need to carefully research information when making friends and be cautious with attractive invitations to travel abroad easily, especially during holidays and Tet.

When receiving a call claiming to be from a government agency to inform and disseminate paperwork, people need to carefully check and verify the information. When detecting signs of fraud, contact and report to the nearest police agency for timely detection and handling.
