Song Ve Town Police take care of lost old lady
From the clues left by the old woman, Song Ve Town Police officers verified and coordinated information exchange with police forces in Khanh Hoa and Quang Nam provinces (provinces with administrative units named Dai Lanh).
At 10:30 p.m. on February 14, Song Ve Town Police received information from Dai Lanh Commune Police, Van Ninh District (Khanh Hoa) providing information about the old woman and contacted her relatives.
Relatives in Dai Lanh commune said that the old woman named Hoa Thi Kien (92 years old, in Dai Lanh commune), suffered from dementia and left home nearly 15 years ago. Relatives searched for her many times but found no information.
Song Ve Town Police prepare to take Mr. Kien to his hometown
Song Ve Town Police reported the incident to the on-duty officer and the leader of Tu Nghia District Police. Thereby, Tu Nghia District Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Department of Quang Ngai Province Police to ask a passenger bus on National Highway 1 to take the old woman home to reunite with her family.
On the afternoon of February 15, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Ms. Vo Thi Le Dung (68 years old, in Dai Lanh commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province), daughter of Ms. Hoa Thi Kien, said that when Quang Ngai police called to verify, at first the old woman looked very much like her mother who had been lost for 15 years, the family was very happy and grateful.
However, when the old woman was brought home, Mrs. Dung found that she was not like her mother. At this time, the old woman kept saying that she was going to Da Nang. After that, the old woman left, some of Mrs. Dung's neighbors tried to stop her but she struggled to leave, still holding two bags of things in her hands. After the old woman left, Mrs. Dung's family reported the incident to the local police.
"This old lady is not my mother (Mrs. Hoa Thi Kien - PV). My family is still searching for the whereabouts of my mother, whose name is Hoa Thi Kien. Because I was in pain and wanted to find my mother so much, I saw an unclear picture and mistook the lost old lady for my mother. I would like to thank the police forces of Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa provinces for enthusiastically helping my family and the lost old lady find her relatives. I also apologize for this unfortunate mistake," said Ms. Dung.
