According to the National Assembly's Working Program on June 6, 2024, the morning session starts at 11:00 a.m. and the afternoon session starts at 2:00 p.m. The National Assembly will meet separately to consider and decide on personnel work under the authority of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. Specifically as follows:

Morning

From 11:00 a.m.: The National Assembly listened to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, present the Report on personnel to be introduced for the National Assembly to elect the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term; listened to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh present the Report of the Prime Minister requesting the National Assembly to approve the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term. After that, the National Assembly discussed in Delegations the List of nominees for the National Assembly to elect the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term and proposed to approve the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term.

Afternoon

From 14:00: The National Assembly listened to the General Secretary of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong present the Report summarizing the opinions discussed at the Delegation and the results of the ballot for opinions on the election of the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term and approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term. After that, the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the List of candidates for the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term.

From 2:10 p.m.: The National Assembly conducted a secret ballot to elect Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh as Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term; approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Le Thanh Long as Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term and Mr. Luong Tam Quang as Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term.

At the meeting, the National Assembly listened to: (i) The Vote Counting Committee reported the results of the vote counting for the election of Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term for Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh; approved the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Le Thanh Long and Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Luong Tam Quang. (ii) Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong presented 2 Draft Resolutions of the National Assembly, including: Resolution on the election of Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term; Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term.

After that, the National Assembly discussed and voted to pass the Resolutions: (i) Resolution to elect Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term for Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh by electronic voting, with the following results: 467 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 95.89% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), of which 465 delegates approved (equal to 95.48% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), 1 delegate did not approve (equal to 0.21% of the total number of National Assembly delegates); 1 delegate did not vote (equal to 0.21% of the total number of National Assembly delegates); (ii) Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term by electronic voting, with the following results: 469 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 96.30% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), of which 468 delegates approved (equal to 96.10% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), and 1 delegate did not approve (equal to 0.21% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

From 3:25 p.m.: The National Assembly considers and approves the membership of the National Defense and Security Council. At the session, the National Assembly listens to President To Lam present a report on the proposal to approve the membership of the National Defense and Security Council. After that, the National Assembly votes by secret ballot to approve the membership of the National Defense and Security Council for Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; the National Assembly listens to the Vote Counting Committee report on the results of the vote counting to approve the membership of the National Defense and Security Council for Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang and listens to Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong present the Draft Resolution approving the President's proposal on membership of the National Defense and Security Council for Mr. Luong Tam Quang.

The National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution approving the President's proposal for Mr. Luong Tam Quang as a member of the National Defense and Security Council by electronic voting, with the following results: 455 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 93.43% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), of which 455 delegates approved (equal to 93.43% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).
