The Dong Van Cong road expansion project, part of the plan to reduce traffic congestion in the Cat Lai port area (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), has just been completed before the Lunar New Year 2024 as planned.
According to the reporter's records on February 20, after completion, traffic on Dong Van Cong street - the gateway to Cat Lai port has become more open. In addition, after Dong Van Cong street was expanded, My Thuy 3 bridge at My Thuy intersection was also connected, contributing to reducing traffic pressure for this "hot" spot.
A representative of the Traffic Department said that the My Thuy intersection and Tan Son Nhat International Airport are the two "hottest" traffic jam spots that are being deployed and are striving to be completed in 2024 to serve the city's people. At Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City is urgently implementing the project to build a road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa (Tan Binh District) connecting to Terminal T3, which is also being urgently constructed to solve the overload situation of Tan Son Nhat Airport.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City is implementing the construction of an underpass to clear the traffic congestion at the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection (District 7) which is also "hot". Director of the Traffic Department Luong Minh Phuc said that this year, 2 construction packages will be implemented synchronously, striving to open the HC2 tunnel branch to traffic on June 30 and the HC1 tunnel branch and the entire project on December 31.
“In 2024, the city's five key traffic projects (including the construction of Ring Road 3, An Phu intersection, the upgrading and expansion project of National Highway 50, the underpass at Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection, Tran Quoc Hoan Street - Cong Hoa Street) will move to a new phase. That is, synchronously constructing all construction packages, speeding up the disbursement progress to complete them soon and put them into service for the people,” said Mr. Phuc.
According to the Transport Department, in 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will start 29 packages and projects with a total investment of more than 17,500 billion VND.
According to the reporter's records on February 20, Binh Duong's key traffic projects have resumed construction after Tet. Mr. Tran Hung Viet - Director of Binh Duong Traffic Department said that in 2024, the province will enter the peak construction period. Some projects will speed up progress to complete. In 2024, two key traffic projects with huge investment capital will start construction. The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project in Binh Duong is expected to start construction on the occasion of April 30. The total investment of the project is about 18,247 billion VND, to be completed by the end of 2026. The 47.85km long project passes through Bac Tan Uyen district, Tan Uyen city, Thu Dau Mot city and Ben Cat town. Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway project, the section through Binh Duong is over 45.6km long, is expected to start construction on the occasion of September 2 with a total investment of about 17,408 billion VND. This project plays an important role in connecting the Central Highlands and Southeast regions.
