(BLC) - On the morning of January 16, Lai Chau City People's Committee held a conference to announce the decision and award certificates for Lai Chau City OCOP products in 2024. Attending were comrade Do Van Xieng - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the Council for Evaluation and Classification of Lai Chau City OCOP products; members of the Council for Evaluation and Classification of OCOP products; People's Committees of communes and wards and OCOP product owners.
Lai Chau City OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council awarded certificates to the subjects.
According to the decision of Lai Chau City People's Committee in 2024, Lai Chau City has 12 products of 11 entities (including 3 cooperatives, 2 companies and 6 business households) classified and granted 3-star OCOP certificates. Of which, 9 products are evaluated and recognized for the first time and 3 products are evaluated and recognized again.
Products with 3-star rating are printed and pasted with OCOP stamps and labels on product packaging; and are rewarded according to regulations. The results of classification, recognition and re-recognition are valid for 36 months from the date of issuance of the decision.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Do Van Xieng - Vice Chairman of Lai Chau City People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, the City Economic Department should regularly inspect and monitor the quality of certified OCOP products; advise on trade promotion activities, expand consumption for subjects; review certified OCOP products from previous years that have expired, thereby selecting products that meet the program's criteria to participate in evaluation and re-recognition; advise on handling violations according to regulations or revoke OCOP product certificates if the criteria are not well maintained during the implementation process.
Propose that the People's Committees of communes and wards strengthen the management of certified OCOP products; inspect food hygiene and safety at establishments with certified products. Entities with certified OCOP products must strictly implement the regulations on OCOP product management; maintain and improve the quality of criteria, standards, and quality of certified products; maintain production conditions to ensure safety in product quality, labor, environment, and other conditions related to production activities; print stamps, labels, and product packaging in accordance with regulations...
