Promoting the role in implementing ethnic policies
Quan Son District (Thanh Hoa) currently has 94 prestigious people in the ethnic minority community. This is the core force, playing an important role in connecting the people with the government, contributing to promoting comprehensive development in the locality.
As soon as the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, Phase I: 2021-2025 was implemented, the People's Committee of Quan Son district directed communes and towns to focus on promoting the role of prestigious people, village elders, clan leaders, and outstanding intellectuals in pioneering and setting examples in grassroots movements, especially in propaganda and mobilization work to unite people to promote internal strength, self-reliance, and self-reliance to escape poverty, contributing to building socio-economic development plans suitable to the actual conditions of each locality.
Mr. Luong Van Noong, a prestigious person in Na Au village, Tam Thanh commune, Quan Son district, is one of the typical examples in promoting the role of prestigious people in the ethnic minority community. He is a shining example in carrying out his words and doing them. His closeness and closeness to the villagers make him an important factor in the construction and development of the locality.
In a conversation with us, Mr. Noong shared: “Na Au is a village in a border commune, with many potential complex factors regarding security and order (SOT). Therefore, promoting the role of a prestigious person, I always proactively propagate and mobilize people to raise their sense of responsibility in ensuring SOT in residential areas; participate in the fight against crime and social evils, and maintain solidarity in the community.”
According to many people, the image of him going to each house, closely discussing and guiding people to do a good job of detecting and preventing subjects with law-breaking behaviors has become familiar to everyone. Mr. Noong has also actively participated in major local campaigns, such as "For a peaceful life, each person, each household should do many good deeds for security and order", "National Day for National Security Protection", and "National Day for Great National Unity".
These activities not only raise people's awareness of their responsibility in maintaining security and order, but also arouse solidarity, helping Na Au village always achieve the title of "Cultural village, safe in security and order".
Be a pioneer in implementing grassroots movements.
Mr. Lo Hong Quang (born in 1959), Thai ethnic group, is currently one of the prestigious people in Ngam village, Son Dien commune, Quan Son district. Known not only for his role as a leader in the community, Mr. Quang is also an exemplary model in applying the policies of the Party and State, as well as in building cultural life and developing the local economy and society.
According to Mr. Quang, one of the favorable factors in carrying out the work is the deep concern of the Party and State for ethnic minority areas, especially in national target programs, training, fostering and social security policies. This, together with the tradition of solidarity, patriotism and hard work of the people in Quan Son district, has created a solid foundation for local development.
However, Ngam village still faces many difficulties, especially poor socio-economic infrastructure, uneven educational level and small-scale production practices, causing great obstacles in management and leadership.
With his prestige, Mr. Lo Hong Quang always focuses on propaganda work, mobilizing people in the village to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements. He pays special attention to campaigns to build new rural areas and build cultural life in residential areas. He and the local government have mobilized people to donate land to build roads and clear land to promote infrastructure development projects.
Mr. Lo Hong Quang shared: “As a prestigious person, I feel responsible for setting an example in implementing the policies of the Party and State, helping to connect the government with the people, helping to propagate and mobilize people to carry out movements, build new rural areas, and reduce poverty. A prestigious person needs to always be close to, listen to and promptly resolve issues arising in the community, to create solidarity and sustainable development.”
Besides, Quan Son district has many examples from other prestigious people in the district, they are the inspirational flames, actively contributing to all areas of social life, always trusted and supported by the people.
Mr. Chu Dinh Trong, Vice Chairman of Quan Son District People's Committee, said that the work of honoring Prestigious People, intellectuals and ethnic minority businessmen plays an important role in connecting people with the government, helping to propagate the Party and State's policies and guidelines, while contributing to protecting national security and defense and socio-economic development. Prestigious people have helped improve the economic situation, preserve culture and strengthen national unity.
However, there are still some difficulties in promoting their role, such as low legal awareness, sometimes loose coordination between authorities and prestigious people, and untimely support for prestigious people in difficulty.
“Quan Son district will continue to focus on policies for prestigious people, effectively implementing ethnic policies of the Party and State. At the same time, strongly promote the role of a bridge between the government and ethnic minorities, ensure good implementation of ethnic policies, combine socio-economic development with strengthening national security and defense, and prevent factors causing social instability,” Mr. Trong affirmed.
Unite, join forces, and effectively utilize resources to soon bring Quan Son out of poverty.
