2024 is the first year that the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance launched the Action Month for Cooperatives. Accordingly, the Action Month for Cooperatives in 2024 aims to raise awareness, educate traditions, arouse pride, continue to promote and enhance the sense of responsibility, proactiveness, innovation and creativity of the staff, civil servants and employees in the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system and managers, members and employees in cooperative groups, cooperatives and cooperative unions. This is also an opportunity to recognize and honor collectives and individuals with many achievements and contributions to the development of the collective economic sector and cooperatives.
In response to the Cooperative Action Month, the Provincial Cooperative Union organized practical activities such as: Promoting information and propaganda; increasing support for cooperatives to access central and provincial policies and mechanisms; training and capacity building for cooperative officials; visiting and working with a number of member cooperatives, etc.
Up to now, the province has 633 cooperatives, 1 cooperative union and 2,970 cooperative groups (CGs) operating in many fields. In 2023 alone, the Cooperative Union has advised on the establishment of 117 CGs and 60 cooperatives. CGs and cooperatives are increasingly dynamic in adapting to market mechanisms, autonomous in organizing activities and making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.
