"Greening" public passenger transport is a policy that has been implemented for many years in Hanoi. Electric buses and buses using CNG gas have been put into operation on a number of routes and achieved initial successes, ensuring service to people as well as minimizing environmental pollution. Up to now, pure electric taxis are initially gaining the trust of people.

Recently, GSM (Green - Smart - Mobility) Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company has also launched an electric taxi service that has attracted a lot of attention from people. This is the first electric taxi company in the Vietnamese market, belonging to VinFast.
GSM was founded by Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, with a charter capital of VND3,000 billion. The company operates in two main areas: electric taxis and VinFast electric car and motorbike rental, with an investment scale of 10,000 cars and 100,000 motorbikes.
GSM carries the SM Green Taxi brand with the goal of "electrifying" taxis, promoting green lifestyles in the community, and minimizing environmental pollution.
According to research, SM Green Taxi operates in two major cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which is the first step in the plan to "cover" at least 5 provinces and cities across the country this year.
Mr. Manh Cuong (residing in Xuan Dinh Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) said: "Taking an electric taxi has less gas smell, the car is 100% new so it feels airy and clean, the driver is cheerful and chats civilly with customers".
"There are few cars left, the waiting time is a bit long"
In particular, to accelerate the introduction of electric vehicles to the market, GSM has also continuously signed agreements with two large-scale transport units, Be Group and Ahamove. Accordingly, one of the important contents is that GSM will support Be Group drivers to switch from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric vehicles.
As for Ahamove, Ahamove Instant Service Joint Stock Company has officially received the handover of 200 VinFast Feliz S electric motorbikes to put into operation the electric vehicle rental service (EV Rental) in Da Nang city.
Spacious, airy space with good service quality
Currently, the price of technology taxis, specifically GrabCar, is 29,000 VND/first 2 km; each subsequent km costs 10,000 VND. Grab also charges additional fees depending on weather and rush hour. Similarly, beCar costs 29,000 VND; from km 2 to km 12, it costs 11,500 VND/km.
Compared to other technology car companies, the price of the SM Green Taxi service is slightly higher. Specifically, the price for the first kilometer of the GreenCar service is 20,000 VND. For the next 24 kilometers, the fare for the VF 5 Plus is 15,000 VND/km, for the VF e34 is 16,000 VND/km. From the 26th kilometer onwards, the fare is 14,000 VND/km for the VF 5 Plus and 14,500 VND/km for the VF e34. The price for the LuxuryCar service is fixed at 21,000 VND/km for the entire journey.
Experience shows that the electric taxi has no smell, no engine noise, a spacious and comfortable seating compartment. The 360-degree sensor camera system in front of the driver's seat clearly displays the image of the car and the surrounding traffic pattern, giving customers a sense of safety.
With a journey of about 4.3 km from Lac Long Quan flower garden to lane 120 Hoang Quoc Viet (Co Nhue 1 Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) at 5:40 p.m. on May 21, the prices of 4-seat technology taxis such as beCar, GrapCar, GoCar are 62,000 VND, 64,000 VND, 74,000 VND respectively, while GreenCar is 71,000 VND.
Electric taxi with smart features, no gasoline fumes, no engine noise, environmentally friendly and fast, convenient payment methods.
Ms. Le Thi Tam (residing in Times City urban area, Mai Dong ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) said: "The driver is careful, the car is clean, but the waiting time for a taxi is a bit long, not as fast as Grap, Be. There are days when I have to wait from 8 to 20 minutes, which is normal."
Explaining this issue, GreenCar PHT driver said that in Hanoi, there have only been about 500 cars operating since its operation, the "coverage" is not much, so the waiting time will depend on the location of the customer and the current location of the car.
It is known that drivers who register to join SM Green Taxi will have to meet some quite high recruitment requirements. The application condition is that the driver must have a clean record, have 6 months of experience working at technology car companies or traditional taxis. Drivers will be tested on driving skills and behavior in real-life situations.
