Many parents worry that their children will eat unsafe food at school (Illustration: provided by parents).
According to Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Trang, specialist in charge of preschool education at the Department of Education and Training of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with the rate of 40,000 VND/child/day, preschools in the area will publicly disclose to parents actual images of children's meals in a day, detailed quantities and nutritional portions.
After cooking, the kitchen will scoop out a portion equivalent to a child’s normal meal portion to put in the school’s food sample cabinet. When picking up their child, parents can know what their child ate and drank today.
Mr. Vo Cao Long, Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 1, emphasized: "Parents who know about the quality of their children's school meals will feel more secure, confident, and supportive of the school."
In the face of many recent food poisoning cases, this approach has been approved by many parents. Some expressed that this helps parents feel secure about their children's meals, monitor their portions, and hope that other localities will implement it synchronously for secondary and high schools, not just preschools.
