Timely resolving issues raised by voters is a key task that the Nghi Son Town People's Council focuses on implementing after each voter meeting. Thereby, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State management as well as protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens.
In order to promptly grasp voters' opinions and recommendations, from the beginning of the 2021-2026 term up to now, the Standing Committee of the Town People's Council has coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Town Fatherland Front Committee and local Party committees and authorities to develop a plan to organize meetings with voters in the direction of expanding the composition and subjects, so that voters can express their recommendations and aspirations right at the grassroots level. At the meeting with voters, the presentation of reports is shortened to give more time for voters to reflect and make recommendations, and at the same time for the town leaders, leaders of wards and communes to thoroughly explain the content under their authority. After fully receiving voters' opinions and recommendations, the Standing Committee of the Town People's Council has coordinated with the Standing Committee of the Town Fatherland Front Committee to synthesize, review, classify, and forward to the Town People's Committee and relevant agencies for consideration, timely response and resolution, and report to the Town People's Council according to regulations. In addition to meeting voters, citizen reception work is also carried out seriously and regularly at the town's citizen reception office for the town's People's Council delegates and the provincial People's Council delegation groups. The heads of the town's People's Council delegation groups coordinate with the People's Councils and People's Committees of wards and communes to arrange schedules and assign delegates in their groups to receive citizens at the citizen reception office of the locality where they are candidates. The citizen reception schedule is sent to the wards and communes and announced so that voters and people know and attend in full.
In addition, the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the committees of the People's Council of the town have strengthened supervision, especially thematic supervision related to the areas of interest to voters. At the same time, proactively coordinate with the People's Committee of the town to monitor, urge and supervise the handling of voters' recommendations by competent agencies, departments, branches and organizations to ensure that they are received, considered, resolved and responded to according to regulations. In particular, many opinions and recommendations related to capital construction investment, compensation for site clearance, mechanisms and policies... have been thoroughly resolved, removing difficulties and concerns, meeting the expectations of voters and the people.
For example, according to the feedback and recommendations of voters of Truong Lam commune, they requested to invest in building a power line for 8 households in the area adjacent to the quarry to stabilize their lives. In response to the voters' opinions, Nghi Son Town People's Committee issued a document directing the town's electricity department to coordinate with Truong Lam Commune People's Committee to inspect and determine the current status of the power grid in the area adjacent to the quarry. Currently, 8 households have been and are being supplied with electricity through a customer group at column 7 of Truong Lam 11 transformer station. Through working, currently 8 households have a need to sign a separate contract with the electricity industry and request to build a power line to supply electricity to households with a length of about 400m. Nghi Son Town Electricity Department has acknowledged and will issue a document reporting to Thanh Hoa Electricity Company to request investment policy for implementation.
Or voters of Xuan Lam ward requested the People's Committee of the town to direct and request investors of projects to carry out site clearance that clogs drainage ditches, affecting production and life of residential areas. In response to voters' opinions, the People's Committee of Nghi Son town issued Official Dispatch No. 1269/UBND requesting the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and the Provincial Industrial Parks to direct investors, including the motor vehicle inspection station, to remedy the above situation. On April 17, 2024, the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and the Provincial Industrial Parks held a meeting and requested units to organize the installation and clearance of blockages causing local flooding due to the construction unit. Currently, the motor vehicle inspection station unit has installed a drainage ditch system to ensure drainage when it rains heavily. To ensure good drainage, Nghi Son Town People's Committee requested Xuan Lam Ward People's Committee to inspect and clear the ditch from the culvert through the right dike of Cau Se to the leveling area of the motor vehicle inspection station to ensure drainage.
In order for voters' opinions and recommendations to continue to be resolved promptly and thoroughly, the Town People's Council delegates regularly maintain contact with voters to listen to feedback from the grassroots. At the same time, further expand thematic voter meetings; effectively coordinate with the People's Committees, Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and relevant agencies, ensuring that voters' recommendations are answered publicly and within the time limit prescribed by law, contributing to enhancing the role of local elected bodies.
