In 2023, the banking sector in Ha Tinh achieved many positive results, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the province. With a large network of credit institutions distributed throughout the province, the banking sector has created conditions for people and businesses to access and conduct transactions quickly and conveniently.
According to the report of the State Bank of Vietnam Provincial Branch, the total mobilized capital of the banking industry as of December 31, 2023 reached VND 100,482 billion, an increase of 19.24% compared to the end of 2022.

During the year, local credit institutions actively implemented policies and instructions of the industry in performing their tasks, especially policies related to credit activities and interest rate support. In addition to general policies, credit institutions also introduced specific incentive policies to stimulate credit demand, support businesses and people to access capital to restore production and boost consumption.
Outstanding loans as of December 31, 2023 reached VND 96,050 billion, an increase of 10.15% compared to the end of 2022. Loan turnover in the whole area as of December 31, 2023 reached more than VND 184,000 billion, an increase of 19.89% over the same period in 2022. On-balance sheet bad debt is within the allowable limit, accounting for 0.71% of total outstanding loans in the whole area.
The State Bank of Vietnam’s provincial branches have also strengthened inspection and supervision; prevented violations in the banking sector; directed credit institutions to focus on promoting non-cash payments, promoting digital transformation in banking activities, ensuring the safety of information technology systems...
In addition to professional work, in 2023, Ha Tinh Banking sector also always focuses on implementing practical and meaningful social security activities with a total amount of more than 164.6 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Branch of the Bank for Social Policies discussed solutions to implement policy credit programs for poor households and other policy beneficiaries.
In 2024, Ha Tinh Banking sector aims to effectively implement solutions to manage the sector's monetary policy in the locality; promote capital mobilization activities to meet the demand for effective lending in the locality. Expand and improve credit quality, focus on credit capital in priority areas according to the Government's direction. Harmoniously combine the business goals and tasks of banks with serving the task of local socio-economic development.
Accordingly, specific targets are set as follows: growth in mobilized capital from 14% or more compared to the end of 2023; growth in outstanding credit from 14% or more compared to the end of 2023; bad debt/total outstanding debt ratio below 2%.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha acknowledged and commended the achievements of the leadership, cadres, civil servants and employees of the banking sector in 2023.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the banking sector to develop a specific plan to overcome shortcomings and limitations, and prioritize the implementation of tasks to achieve better results in 2024. Accordingly, the State Bank of Vietnam Provincial Branch continues to direct credit institutions to promote capital mobilization, safe and effective credit growth; control and handle bad debts; balance capital sources, direct credit to priority areas, national target programs, and prioritize lending to key projects and programs of the province.
Strengthening information and communication of mechanisms and policies to customers; connecting and dialogue between banks and enterprises to promptly grasp and resolve difficulties of enterprises. Creating favorable conditions for people and enterprises to access credit capital; researching and developing a variety of products and services suitable to the production and business needs of people and enterprises; promoting the expansion of consumer credit to contribute to limiting "black credit".
Strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of inspection, examination and supervision of the banking sector; focus on areas with potential risks to prevent, detect and strictly handle risks, problems and violations of credit institutions. Continue to promote digital transformation in banking activities and non-cash payment activities.
The province will always pay attention to and create conditions for the banking sector in general and the State Bank Provincial Branch in particular to fulfill assigned tasks.
