(BGDT) - Implementing the Plan of Bac Giang Provincial Police on assigning and arranging specialized teams to patrol, control and handle violations of traffic safety and order in the province, the Director of the Provincial Police Department has decided to mobilize a specialized team of 10 comrades from Viet Yen District Police to perform duties at Luc Nam District Police, from May 20 to July 20.

The task force and the Traffic Police of Luc Nam District Police have increased patrolling, controlling and handling violations of traffic safety and order in the area, focusing on handling violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents such as: Violating alcohol concentration, speeding, carrying oversized and overloaded goods, extending the vehicle's trunk, etc.

After the first 2 days of implementing the Plan, 10 cases of alcohol concentration violations were recorded; 15 cases of speeding violations; 10 cases of not wearing helmets; 3 cases of violations of oversize, overload, and extended cargo walls; 12 vehicles were temporarily detained.

In the coming time, entering the peak summer of 2023, the traffic volume and number of vehicles participating in traffic are forecasted to increase when schools enter summer vacation, entertainment activities, and people's travel and transportation needs increase. The district police and the task force continue to strictly handle violations in the district.

To ensure safety and prevent traffic accidents, we request all people to continue to comply with the provisions of the law on traffic safety, focusing on: Strictly implementing the mandatory regulation of wearing helmets; driving vehicles at the prescribed speed. In particular, do not drive vehicles when consuming alcohol, beer, or alcoholic substances; do not carry oversized, overloaded goods, or cargo with a size that does not match the technical specifications stated in the vehicle's Certificate of Technical Safety and Environmental Protection Inspection.

Parents should enhance their responsibility in managing and not let their children drive vehicles when they are not old enough according to the provisions of the Road Traffic Law 2008. For motorbikes (with a capacity of less than 50 cm3), electric motorbikes can only be driven by those aged 16 or older. For motorbikes with a capacity of 50 cm3 or more, the driver must be 18 years old or older and have a driving license from class A1.
