Increase investment and improve infrastructure for science and technology

BTO-On the morning of March 20, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Development of Binh Thuan Province (Provincial Steering Committee) in the first quarter of 2025.

Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were comrades: Dang Hong Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Do Huu Huy - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and members of the Provincial Steering Committee.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Department of Science and Technology has recently deployed and implemented the Action Program on implementing Resolution No. 57 - NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2014 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Accordingly, the Department of Science and Technology is advising the Provincial People's Committee on the Project on communication on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the province, aiming to regularly and extensively disseminate, diversify forms and communication channels; specify the content of communication for each group of people.

To date, the province is implementing 32 science and technology tasks, including 3 ministerial-level tasks and 29 provincial-level tasks. At the same time, it is increasing investment and improving infrastructure for science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. In addition, the Department of Science and Technology is advising the province to develop a project for the province's High-Tech Park, which is expected to attract investors to build laboratories, research and development centers for science and technology, innovation and digital transformation when completed.

At the meeting, delegates listened to a report on the implementation of Project 06 in the province in the first quarter of 2025; the implementation of digital transformation in the health sector, difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Thereby, proposing solutions to better implement the task of developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the province in the coming time. Delegates also contributed many opinions to the draft work program for 2025 and assigned tasks to each member of the Provincial Steering Committee.

Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized that Binh Thuan has seriously implemented and ensured progress according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. In particular, it has researched and concretized to fit local realities. Although the implementation time is short, the work associated with professional tasks has achieved initial results, creating a premise for the province to deploy the following tasks.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested the Provincial Party Committee Office to coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to receive opinions from delegates attending the meeting to complete the draft work program for 2025 and assign tasks to members of the Provincial Steering Committee to ensure strictness and avoid overlapping assignments.

In the coming time, the provincial leaders requested to accelerate the preparation for investment in high-tech zones. At the same time, review policies to encourage the development of technology and innovation. On that basis, propose to develop provincial policies, focusing on the application of modern technology in production and business of enterprises and people. In the field of digital transformation, it is necessary to closely follow the 2025 program of Project 06 for implementation. Focus on integrating applications and data into the province's data axis. At the same time, continue to update and complete specialized databases. Focus on training and improving the capacity of cadres and civil servants on digital transformation and applying artificial intelligence to work. In addition, focus on supporting businesses to carry out digital transformation, continue to popularize digital transformation for people, promote the role of digital transformation teams in the community and the digital literacy movement.
