(NLDO)- Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 1,000 flags and 50 scholarships to children of officers and soldiers of Naval Region 1 and fishermen working and living in Quang Ninh.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, on January 18, at Brigade 170, Ha Tu ward, Ha Long city, (Quang Ninh province), Navy Region 1 coordinated with the Club "Youth for the homeland's sea and islands" to organize the program "Spring joins hands to protect the sea - Tet warms the relationship between the army and the people".
The Chief of the Political Department of the Navy and representatives of the Lao Dong Newspaper presented gifts to children of officers and soldiers of Region 1 and children of fishermen in the area with difficult circumstances.
In this program, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded 1,000 flags and 50 scholarships to children of officers and soldiers working in Region 1 and fishermen living and working in Quang Ninh province.
Attending the program were Colonel Ho Thanh Hoan, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, representatives of the Mass Affairs Department, Political Department, Navy, Head of Region 1 Command and Party committees and people in the stationed area.
Responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" and the program "Vietnam Navy is a support for fishermen to excel and stick to the sea", the Organizing Committee presented hundreds of gifts worth nearly 300 million VND. Of which, the Political Department presented 15 gifts to cadres, youth union members, union members, and women's union members with serious illnesses, long-term illnesses, and difficult family circumstances.
The Lao Dong Newspaper presented 1,000 flags and 50 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to children of officers and soldiers working in Region 1 and fishermen living and working in Quang Ninh who are in difficult circumstances, have overcome difficulties, achieved high results in their studies, have serious illnesses, or are sick for a long time.
The "Youth for the Homeland's Sea and Islands" Club presented officers and soldiers with 70 Tet gift boxes (each gift box worth 3 million VND).
The meaningful gifts from the Program demonstrate the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" that the Navy, the Club, the Lao Dong Newspaper and accompanying units are striving to carry out with their responsibility and affection for cadres, union members, association members, children of cadres, soldiers, fishermen and fishermen in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, with the spirit of overcoming difficulties and excelling in their studies every time Tet comes, Spring comes.
This activity not only contributes to fostering and strengthening the comradeship, team spirit, and the relationship between the army and the people, but also propagates and educates about the traditional beauty and culture of the Vietnamese people's Tet; arouses in each cadre and union member the spirit of mutual love and affection, and encourages families in difficult circumstances to continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and strive to build a prosperous and happy life.
Also within the framework of the Program, there were activities such as: Banh Chung wrapping contest, cultural exchange, campfire between officers and soldiers of Region 1 and the "Youth for the homeland's sea and islands" Club with many special drama, singing, dancing, circus performances from artists and actors of the Vietnam Drama Theater and the Vietnam Circus Federation, the Art Troupe, and the Navy Political Department.
Colonel Ho Thanh Hoan, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, shared: "Spring joins hands to protect the sea - Tet warms the army and people's affection" is a program with many humane meanings; aiming to educate, foster and deeply spread the love, solidarity and sharing spirit of all officers and soldiers of the Navy. Through the program, it aims to propagate and educate the beauty of the traditions and culture of the Vietnamese traditional Tet; arouse in each officer and youth union member the spirit of mutual love, mutual affection, visiting and encouraging the subjects, especially the children of fishermen's families and fishermen in the area with difficult circumstances. Thereby, strengthening the spirit of solidarity, comradeship, team spirit, army and people's affection, joining hands and hearts in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland".
