Towards the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day March 27 (1946 - 2025), from March 13 - 16, 2025 at Yen The Festival, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Yen The District People's Committee organized the 2025 Bac Giang Provincial Martial Arts Championship.
A Vovinam match at the tournament
The tournament attracted nearly 160 male and female athletes from 9 districts, towns and cities in the province. The athletes competed in 4 martial arts categories: Vovinam, Wushu, Boxing and Traditional Martial Arts. Vovinam was divided into 2 age groups: 12-14 years old, 8 weight categories from 45kg to 57kg; 15-16 years old, 8 weight categories from 51 to 66kg. Wushu was divided into 1 age group (14-15 years old) with 6 weight categories from 39-56kg. Boxing was divided into 1 age group (15-16 years old) with 4 weight categories from 41-54kg. Traditional Martial Arts was divided into 6 weight categories from 50-60kg.
The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to outstanding athletes at the tournament.
Through the tournament, the aim is to preserve and promote the value of traditional sports, widely develop the movement of practicing and competing in martial arts among subjects throughout the province; It is also an opportunity to inspect and evaluate the quality of athlete training at the grassroots level and select outstanding athletes to add to the provincial team to participate in national tournaments.
The Organizing Committee awarded the flag to the three units with high achievements at the tournament.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded 37 sets of prizes to the athletes who performed excellently in each category. The overall result was that Tan Yen district won first place, Son Dong district won second place, and Yen The district won third place./.
