Preliminary ideas for the 2nd Smart City Microchip Design Competition

The Microchip Design Competition is an annual competition organized by the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology; Ho Chi Minh City National University; Vietnam National Innovation Center; Da Nang Microchip Design and Artificial Intelligence Research and Training Center (DSAC Center); Youth Science and Technology Development Center to seek potential projects and promote training, research and development activities in the field of semiconductor microchips; creating a premise for the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology platform, computing technology and artificial intelligence.

Following the success of the first Competition, the 2nd Smart Urban Microchip Design Competition with the theme "Dual transformation to develop sustainable green cities" was officially launched nationwide, in 3 major cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, and Hanoi Capital on December 18, 2024. Participants in the competition are students and trainees at universities and colleges nationwide who want to design microchips and have ideas and applied research topics.

After more than 3 months of opening the registration portal, the Idea Preliminary Round was held with the aim of selecting good quality microchip design and chip design projects to continue participating in the training and consulting phase of the Competition. The Preliminary Round in Da Nang attracted the participation of more than 70 students from 17 teams from universities in the Central region.

With 4 evaluation criteria including: idea; content and implementation method; implementation technique; technology, after the preliminary round, selected projects will move on to the product completion round held at Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.
